Chithranjali's journey began with a simple yet powerful goal — to create a platform where art, culture, and new talents could flourish. As the eminent writer Dr.M.T.Vasudevan Nair noted in "Jalakam", Chithranjali’s activities were a testament to the quiet but impactful influence it had on the cultural landscape of Kerala, truly embodying the spirit of "evar ee nadinte uppanu" (as the salt of the earth).

All Kerala Nursery Arts Festival

One of the most remarkable contributions of Chithranjali to the cultural fabric of Kerala is the All Kerala Nursery Arts Festival. Held annually for the past 37 years, this prestigious event has become a landmark in the arts calendar, attracting over 2,500 young participants from 300 nursery schools across the state. The two-day Kalotsavam is the only one of its kind in Asia, offering a unique platform for children to display their talents in a variety of artistic categories. With 16 different competition categories conducted simultaneously across 4 stages, the festival celebrates the artistic abilities of young minds. Every participant receives a certificate, and winners are awarded prizes and merit certificates, providing them with a sense of achievement and encouragement to continue their artistic pursuits.

A Launchpad for Talent

Chithranjali has been a launchpad for numerous stage performers, including renowned film and television artists, dancers, and singers. Many of today’s celebrated stars took their first steps on stage through Chithranjali’s platform, a testament to the organisation’s commitment to fostering new talent.
